How will my original oil painting be protected for shipping?

Accepted Answer

All original oil paintings are wrapped in several layers of protective bubble wrap before being securely shipped in a sturdy cardboard box. The majority of my paintings are sold unframed, however, if the painting is framed then additional protection in the form of foam corner brackets will be sandwiched between the picture frame and the shipping box to protect the corners and edges of the picture frame.

How long after placing an order will I expect to receive my painting?

This depends largely on location. Original oil paintings listed on the website are generally dispatched within three days. Although shipping timescales can vary slightly depending on the courier, please see below for approximate locations and timescales:UK  3 - 5 Working daysEurope  7 Working DaysUSA and Canada 10 Working DaysAll other destinations please allow 10 Working days

Do you regularly ship artwork internationally?

Yes. I have previously shipped original paintings to several areas of the World and regularly ship artwork to the USA, Europe and sometimes as far as Australia.

What methods of payment do you accept?

Accepted Answer

Payment can be made by all major credit and debit cards via the secure Wix checkout. Payment by paypal is also accepted.

Question 5

What happens if my painting is damaged during transit?

Accepted Answer

This has never happened yet and nor should it due to the amount of internal protection in the shipping box. Should this occur then please contact Mark directly and he will arrange for the artwork to be returned to him.

Question 6

What brand of oil paints do you use for your palette knife paintings?

Accepted Answer

I use a number of brands of professional quality oil paints which carry the purest pigments. This ensures the original painting will look just as vibrant in several years time as the day it was painted. I do not use student quality oil paints in any capacity.

Why is there no option for purchasing prints on the website?

Accepted Answer

The vast majority of my customers are searching for original paintings. I produce work in a large number of sizes, and regularly create smaller paintings from 8 x 8 inches. This ensures there is a range of artwork to cater for a wide range of budgets.

Question 9

Many of your newer oil paintings are created on gesso panel and not canvas. What is the difference?

Accepted Answer

An original oil painting looks quite different on a wood or gesso panel than on traditional canvas. A painting on a primed wood or gesso panel results in a more satin and a smoother looking finish than on traditional canvas. Neither surface is superior to the other, both result in a different finish. An oil painting on canvas tends to look slightly more matt, where as an oil painting on a primed wood or gesso tends to reflect more light and will result in a more satin finish.
