Bon Scott

Original palette knife painting of Bon Scott from AC/DC

Oil on canvas.

About the painting...

This is an original palette knife painting of Bon Scott from AC/DC. The oil painting is a heavily textured palette knife painting of the hugely respected vocalist, Bon Scott. I searched for a considerable period of time to try and find a good image of the singer. Rather than simply copy a photograph, I eventually found a video of the band performing way back in the day. As many fans will know, Bon is very gestural with his hands, which I also wanted to portray. As with all palette knife work, I avoid getting too caught up in detail work, instead focusing on the likeness, colour and texture of the subject. The painting is not framed but can be framed to suit requiring a 1 inch rebate for the sides. Alternatively, the canvas can sit straight on the wall on two fixing screws. Please see images of the wall views.

As with all my palette knife paintings, the artwork has a thick, impasto type finish only achieved using the palette knife.

The original palette knife painting is completed using the highest grade artists oils on professional grade canvas. Palette knife only painting - no brushes were used to create the oil painting.
